Section 199A Fixed

The omnibus legislation which was signed into law today has fixed the unintended consequences of Section of 199A of the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2017.

The National Grain and Feed Association noted that this should provide tax relief to farmers while at the same time restoring the competitive balance between cooperatives and independent businesses.

We are grateful that congress has acted to allow all farmers to choose where to sell their commodities based on an abundance of factors and not penalizing those who prefer to sell their commodities within their established relationships with the local independent businesses.
